I've been trying to encourage my family to get something like Discord for a long time, because I want to delete my Facebook account. I only really use it for Messenger now.

I know you have an account there, and I also know you don't use it, except for your stated purpose. Besides, in most instances, Twitter is easier to get a message to people.
