You can eat cicadas, and does this mean we can start calling them 'land shrimp'?

I’ve eaten crickets before. Not bad, actually (except the little legs irritate the tongue) So, why not.

Nope. But I would eat a roasted cricket or grasshopper.

Maybe “soft shell crab of the trees”, since you have to get them post molt/pre hard shell.
