I’ve often wondered about that, do you outline a story and locations and then see if you can get places before committing to script just in case you can’t get somewhere?

No. I write the script. Our Location Manager finds us what we need. In the unlikely event there's an issue, I'll make a change to the script.

Location scouting is the bane of my existence. But I also love it. I definitely changed the way I write to be easier to scout places for. It is a detailed and difficult job!
