Actress Jewel Staite () was a guest star on the second season of #Stargate: Atlantis. She was so damn good, and so great to work with, that we ended up creating another character for her and bringing her back as a series regular.

Jewel is exceptional in everything she stars in. A superb successor to the Dr Beckett character. I also adored her in the short-lived Firefly too. She brings such life and exuberance to every character she plays and is a joy to watch.
