Berlin confirms it's sending Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and allowing countries to re-export German-made heavy armour. 'This decision follows our well-known line of supporting Ukraine to the best of our ability. We act closely and coordinated internationally,' Olaf Scholz said.

Poland asking EU to reimburse it for any Leopard 2 tanks sent to Ukraine. Request comes after EU foreign ministers on Monday agreed another €500m for weapons to Kyiv. , the EU’s foreign diplomat, wouldn’t be drawn on whether the EU cash could be used for this.

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace says he hopes other countries will follow the UK and France in sending tanks to Ukraine. He told the Commission he hopes the UK’s and France’s decisions ‘will allow those countries holding Leopards tanks to donate as well’.
