    Today is going to be much wetter. We saw sun yesterday. Enough time for me to walk to the gym in a T-shirt.

    Forks broke a daily rainfall record on Thursday with 2.31". This also adds to the record total for the month - 26.77" and counting. There has been measurable rain at Forks every day this month.

    This morning's UW-WRF run shows the potential for accumulating convergence zone snow in SnoCo Sat night-Sun AM. Elsewhere the snow level will be around 500 ft with mixed rain/snow showers at sea level on Sun morning.

    Dang, Quinault got it good

    Here is the predicted rainfall until the end January. Wettest January on record for Quillayute/Forks ( record 24.02" in 2006 currently 21.50" ). Hoquiam will have the 2nd wettest January. No record for Seattle but we could tie record for most rain days ( 28/2006 & 1953).

    It has to stop raining, to be able to say it’s coming again

    At the risk of sounding like a broken record (and, by proxy, a Gen Xer), here comes more rain. Another wet system with a healthy subtropical tap of moisture can be seen well offshore. It will arrive late Saturday night into Sunday.

    10 PM Situation Report | Snow is drifting northward at this hour with the heaviest snow across Whatcom/Skagit Counties and along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Snow will push north to the Canadian border by early Wednesday morning. Winds gusts of 25-30 MPH also in spots.

    Via : 'A band of heavy snowfall is likely to develop over the Olympic Peninsula and Puget Sound this evening and move north into Canada overnight/Wednesday morning. At this time it appears most snow will fall after the evening commute.'

    Dumping big flakes in Forks right now

    We've recently had some snow showers develop from Snohomish county northward. Some light showers can also be seen in King county, but these are just showers ahead of the heavier band of snow that will set itself up closer to 8PM tonight. Drive safe out there!

    Sad I’m in Asia and have been missing all the bad weather. There is no place like home.

    Winter storm watch issued for portions of the Western Washington lowlands ( in the blue/gray ) including the Seattle metro area for Sunday afternoon and evening. Trace to 4 inches possible in the metro area with 2 to 6 inches possible in the north and along the Strait.
