Despite having health insurance, I got a $30,000 medical bill — way more than I expected and than my out-of-pocket maximum.pic.twitter.com/FMH0zoOTWk

There's never ONE bill ... it's always an avalanche of bills. And then when you've got a handle on them, communicated with each billing department and arranged for payment ... the 2nd avalanche arrives weeks or months later, many times from the same damn offices.

My husband was rushed from a PT rehab facility to hospital ER bc he was having a PE in the middle of the night. We received a $2k bill for the ambulance ride. Not in network.

There should be no reason why any emergency service like an ambulance isn’t in network! It’s an emergency!! It isn’t like you can pick and choose.

Every test my son had for years had a $50 copay, until one last fall - was told it would be a $500 copay when we got there to check him in. Ouch. Paid that co-pay, did the test, a bill came weeks later...for more than $3000. Insurance and hospital both adamant it’s correct.

Endoscopy was done on my mom. We got a huge bill from the hospital, followed by a bill from the doctor, followed by a bill from The anesthesiologist. Still climbing out of it 3 years later.
