Can I ask about what the reason is for KS being one of the states with a disproportionate amount of unexpected medical billing?

From my experience an out of network dr, labs, x-rays, or a specialist at a hospital that is in network.

It’s CRIMINAL what hospitals/insurance companies can get away with! Even when you have insurance there is ALWAYS a “surprise” bill!!!

Dad would get them all the time. It's like some obscure doctor glanced at his chart and billed him.

Having worked 6 1/2 years at Kansas' largest health insurer the glaring gaps are clear: Complexities of increasing provider charges, insurance allowances/denials to cover costs, and technology
