Young men are being radicalized online, writes @vmochama. Extremist communities — from incel culture to Daesh to the alt-right — prey on the isolation and vulnerability of some young men, and it's critical that we talk about it.https://www.thestar.com/opinion/2018/04/24/when-a-mass-killing-happens-youth-and-maleness-are-worth-noting.html …

2/Incels are nihilists. They hate men even more than women (observe how Rodger killed more men than women, even if the media ignored that fact). These surface similarities give us no information beyond what we already know - that young disenfranchised men are prone to violence.

Yes I do. I discovered them a few years back on Reddit and I was horrified. I've been following them closely because they represent a legitimate threat for random massive violence. PS. I'm not unaware you were just attempting to insinuate something. But whatever.

Lotta people in this thread seem to be COMPLETELY missing the point. High-status males (the ones radical intersectionals seem to rail against as patriarchal) aren't the ones being radicalized. They're usually the prime targets of the low-status radicals (referred to as 'Chads')

Exactly. Like I said above, Eliot Rodger killed more men than women, and not a single news outlet noted that, and it was the key to understanding him. Its the men that they see as the real oppressor. The men who are too masculine for them to compete with (in their eyes).

4/Concepts like "Patriarchy" or "Rape Culture" have little to say in regards to the nature of these specific men. These men are more like the male equivalent of lonely overweight women, with all the violent potential of young men rolled into it.

3/Incels by no means are defending "Patriarchy". How could they? They see the social order as ruled by physically superior men whom they detest and envy. These are men bereft of masculinity (observe how Minassian cowed to the officer the moment he approached aggressively).
