I don't mind these shills coming out of the woodwork to praise Bush. It puts the lie to the notion of left-right partisanship. When supposedly far-left comedians and commentators suck off a supposedly "far right warmonger" dubya on corporate TV you know they're on the same side.

He came out against Trump and they all decided that was enough to use him as a political tool against the president. Million Iraqis spinning in their graves.

The corporate oligarchy fears a nationalist and an outsider more than almost anything else. They'd rather rehabilitate a war criminal than concede that maybe, just maybe, prioritising national interests doesn't make you Hitler 2.0.

Why is it nobody is ever compared to Stalin?

Because Hitler has become a secular satan whereas Stalin had apologists excusing his genocides for decades after he died. To this day you'll find people hedging their criticisms with irrelevant nonsense like how at least he beat the nazis.

I think it mainly boils down to the soviets utopian rhetoric. For whatever reason people will accept any number of gulag-ed civilians if it's for a noble cause, but having a prosperous and ethnically pure German state is seen as selfish. It's bizarre.

I wonder what that moment would've been like for the average person who helped Lenin in his power grab felt when they realized their lives were no better if not worse after 1919.

Assuming they had time to come to that realisation before getting shot, I hope they saw the irony.
