I'm not joking, I legit had a game dev tell me that customers don't know what they want, acksheullly. I'm like, I'm pretty sure they do based on their angry reaction to Diablo Immortal, LMAO.
What is it about nerd hobbies that invite this sort of personality in? What's more, why do so many of us allow them to behave towards us in this way?
I think a lot of them are art school/college graduates who feel mere entertainment is beneath them. They want to make Art (read: unenjoyable progressive agitprop) and instead they're stuck making "picture books about cartoon heroes" and "electronic children's toys".
Funny thing, a great journalist, and/or writer, would be able to make anything they write a worthwhile read. They could take the time to dig into gaming, and become great voices for the sub-cultures. Instead we get un-proven new-hires demanding a corner office thier second day.
