This. Diablo fans and gamers aren't entitled. Games are created to fulfill a demand, and Diablo Immortal isn't something that fans ever wanted. Blizzard should've taken Bethesda's Fallout 4 approach: release a mobile game to promote the main game, achieving the same outcome. https://twitter.com/Banned_Ali/status/1044006600556650496 …

As for the 'savage' question during Blizzcon, it's fine. People queued and paid money to attend the event and were anticipating a Diablo game they're willing to buy. And instead got a mobile game they didn't ask for. Consider it a funny way to tell Blizzard their disappointment.

That's another strange thing to me about this weird GameJourno spin and circling-of-wagons: Companies *want* accurate feedback. If their product sucks, they want to know (why). They're not helped by damage control. If they'd had better feedback this wouldn't have happened.

One reason why they may have misread their audience this badly is relying too much on GJP opinions and silicon valley dogma over actual user feedback. You know "gaming is diverse", "the future is female and mobile", that kind of horseshit.

I'm surprised the journos are equating mobile derision to misogyny. That's not a stretch or reach. There's no correlation.

I believe their ""reasoning"" is that mobile gaming is female dominated and seen as casual, but I agree it's a non-sequitur and arguing by comparison to anyone who isn't a kool-aid guzzling intersectional feminist.

I believe the proper term is mental gymnastics.
They never even considered the possibility that core gamers hate mobile because of:
-widespread microtransactions
-poor touch controls
-shoddy quality typical of mobile games
Nope. It's because gamers hate women.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes

I just did a proper thread on the subject here: https://twitter.com/Banned_Ali/status/1058915813506383873 … TL:DR I think it's partly because they're pre-programmed NPCs, basically. It's motivated non-reasoning though: corruption and tribalism.
