I don't like the idea of "won't someone think of the children" being replaced with "won't someone think of the headline". This set a bad precedent of charities only being able to accept money from the "correct" people

That's pretty much the goal. This is about legacy media exerting control over new media.

My worry is just where do we draw the line? Sure, these were legitimate far righters, but we know it won't stop there. It never does

There shouldn't be a line. The idea that a charity could be bullied into renouncing a donation from *anyone* should be abhorrent to any reasonable person. If it's helping children they should accept nazi gold.

Wow, are you for real?! "Charities should accept Nazi gold, so long as it is for a good cause"pic.twitter.com/kE2ebINP5n

Do you have a rebuttal other than feigning outrage?

Yeah. Should St Jude's accept donations from pedophiles?

Wow. I find that disgusting. To each their own, but not my cup of tea. ...Which St Jude has the same right to say. Even if you don't like it, they can refuse any money they choose, just as any business can and usually does say "We Reserve The Right To Refuse Service To Anyone"

What part of the transaction do you have moral qualms with, and why: Pedophiles becoming poorer or cancer research getting more funding? So far your only """argument""" has been a kneejerk disgust reflex, and I'm sorry, going "ewwww gross" isn't an argument.

No one said st jude doesn't have the right to refuse money, I'm saying it isn't right. But I'll go further than that: it goes against their mission to refuse money for "optics" or w/e. A charity that's in the habit of refusing money for petty reasons isn't doing its fucking job.
