So for many years I've had to deal with people re-uploading my content. I do allow for certain things to be done with my content (detailed here: https://goo.gl/mszZFe ) but something I don't allow is for people to monetize any content they use from me.

The reason being is this problem pictured in this post. People will take my content, and put ads every minute or so. Basically they profit off of my hard work. My content takes weeks if not months to make, and reacting to it is minimal effort for gain off of my work.pic.twitter.com/SISleC3MQW

People are earning hundreds of dollars from stealing content, slapping their camera in the corner and calling it content.
@YouTube has done a great service to content creators recently by giving us access to a copyright tool, but there's a major problem with that tool.Show this thread -
The tool scans all across YouTube to find when people re-upload your work. You have the option to remove it or ignore it. Removing the content gives the channel a copyright strike and can ruin their channel. I don't want to ruin someone's entire channel over this however,

I think
@TeamYouTube should give you the option to collect the ad revenue from it. This way the reactors can still do as they want, but they won't be paid. This can severely cut down on "bad actors" just trying to make money off of other peoples content.Show this thread -
These reaction channels are hurting channels like mine. It takes a ton of hard work and effort to make animations but to just see someone take it, profit from it, and continue to do so is disheartening.

Some of these channels have uploaded 5+ videos of mine gaining millions of collective views, possibly thousands of dollars, and there's no compensation to myself or channels who are also being stolen from.

So please, if you're going to use my content do not monetize it. It's not your content to use like that. I only place ads where necessary on my videos to keep the viewers engaged and I use that ad revenue to fund my animations.

We really need something done about these content thieves
@TeamYouTube because sooner or later, they won't have content to steal from when people like myself quit. I hope this can be the first step in something great. -Stevepic.twitter.com/CJc4kECq1mShow this thread
