And the NSA and GCHQ work with internet/telecoms companies in the US and UK. Why call out the Chinese but ignore what our spies are doing to us at home?

My guess is that all MNCs contain a few spies. Putting them in embassies as visa officers is bit of a givaway. I think we can’t be judgmental here.

If you can talk to the chinese students here, you will be afraid of security of US. Most of them, not all , about 70%+ can work for the CCP immediately if CCP requiring. Dangerous !

So Huawei is just like Cisco, but cheaper and I find their backdoors use less hardware overhead. NSA was getting lazy. Bloated ass code made the hardware sluggish. It's nice to have competition in government hacked silicon.

That makes some of what went down when I was contracting for them even scarier: there was a lot of “our actual system can’t handle that many messages; here, have our database credentials instead”. Not just from Chinese companies.

How about Chinese police (Gong An) knowingly has a floor at Tencent (WeChat) ? How about Tencent is a joint venture with Google Cloud ( a more underembargo project than Dragon fly) and Tencent music is an equity holder of apps like Spotify. Are our data being spied already?
