Will the market care when they miss 2020 revenue and profit estimates by a mile like Tesla has done every year since it’s been public?
I think that's the real story here. Why does the market ignore years of operational underperformance? But that requires more effort than pulling a couple of quotes from a pair of uber bulls that have chronically overestimated $TSLA's financial prospects.

I'd argue it's a structural/technical story. You have an extremely thin, highly controlled float that certain market participants are just trading amongst themselves. It's boiler room antics in a large cap. The media just regurgitates the same story - next year's the year.
