"I hate political correctness. I hate anti-political correctness more, though." ~ Don Watson Re: when the Right complains about "political correctness" stifling free speech & ending comedy, what they're really opposed to is the evolution of who society reckons deserves respect.

That video made me like Kevin Spacey again. It was warm and funny and just, well, human. Welcome back king of the actors. Also Hitler is cool.

Did Heinekin's mid-strength beer ad just tell me it was better to get trashed on first drinks with my new boss, but when you're on a date with someone cool definitely take it easy? 🤔

The idea that becoming Right Wing as you get older is somehow about gaining wisdom, insight, acceptance and a sense of reality is false. It's actually about losing empathy, a willingness to listen and learn, and a sense of the reality that exists beyond your own little bubble.

Protesting is an important part of any democracy. While I often disagree with the issues being protested about, and the actions of some protestors, ministers & a PM saying protests aren't appropriate ways to voice opinions shows a profound lack of understanding about democracy.

Attribution bias - blaming others for the consequences of your own actions is a common symptom of paranoia. Imagining “invisible” people are out to get you is also a classic symptom. Not often on the front page of course...
