I don’t *think* this meteor is related to #2012DA14; a solid 12+ hours ahead; DA14 is still pretty far out. Coincidence?

Any chance 2012DA14 and those fragments were co-orbiting or somehow gravitationally bound?

I haven't calculated the asteroid's gravitational force yet, or googled it. Are there estimates?

C'mon CNN stop talking about the cruise ship and talk about real news like the meteor.

Perhaps this meteor is debris/fragments preceding the asteroid?

Or they are both remnants of something really big on a similar orbit that took a whack a few billion years ago.

that was going to be my question. Could smaller ancillary meteors be around this asteroid?

Does evidence exist to suggest NEOs might travel in company/bunches?

I agree with you , if some one have more info please let me know Alejandro SNN news

I wonder if they're being pushed at us by the asteroid's gravity? Carried in on its wave, as it were, like floating detritus?
