Yeah the 2D boys are the only guys who got pointer functions to work in their ports.
they aren't using the IR camera, though, they're using the gyroscope to mimic pointer functionality (like Splatoon 2 does in a few spots)

Ah, okay. Sorry, I saw the right Joycon being used for gyro pointing in a video, but forgot that you don't use the camera at all.
