The story bits at the end of Chapter 1 are anything but generic
the final, like, 3 minutes of it are good. for me, the game starts when you get blown out the castle window — everything after that owns

I think the rest of the game is more impactful as a result of the first chapter being somewhat traditional, but it's a sluggish start
