i think the FOV on console is pretty low and the game moves real fast, so maybe that was the culprit

Not entirely wrong, but at the same time story wouldn't work with chapter 1 being "business as usual". Maybe Trailers/PR Stuff isn't all bad

yeah, i kind of agree - the timeskip is so effective because of that intro. still think there's a way they could've made C1 less boring tho
