Honestly I hope developers know what notes to take. I wasn't personally a huge BOTW fan and would prefer scripted, linear, shorter games.

I can certainly think of worse popular games for every dev to be desperately trying to copy.

Especially if copycats understand that love of BotW is largely thx to the freedom and encouragement to play creatively. Hope they copy that.
