the Your Name dub was OK! a few crits: • the "southern" accents • the english Radwimps songs are bad • the word "boobies" in a pivotal scene

the southern accents were a way to translate Mitsuha's propensity to speak in dialect, since english doesn't have commonly-known dialects
i get what they tried for, i just don't like the way they handled it. the characters were written like southerners, but spoke w/o accents

Also Itomori was based on a town that's northwest of Tokyo not south

It wasn't a southern accent it was a midwestern flavor, it was intentionally light cuz we didn't want it to be distracting
