anyone know how to force Stepmania to run windowed instead of fullscreen?

Try installing this version https://github.com/xwidghet/stepmania/releases/tag/0.53 … Might actually be fresh start and fix that issue hopefully
@Mike_IronFist hah, actually, just letting the windowed version sit untouched for like 45 seconds got it to eventually boot. weird!

Hm. My guess is another config file (probably in the same folder) was hanging it up on an error & the error timed out

Ya might wanna try closing, moving the entire "Stepmania 5" folder out of "Roaming" temporarily & seeing what happens
