anyone know how to force Stepmania to run windowed instead of fullscreen?

I've used that version before and I never had problems running it in window mode. i'll give a few instructions...

(to be clear: i can't use alt+enter or do it through settings bc i get a black screen and a crash every time i open it)

If you go to the Save folder inside the game folder (if not there, then it's %appdata%) and open preferences.ini

In the bottom there should be Windowed=something, set it to 1, plus make sure VideoRenderers=d3d is exactly this
