So a lot of the early episodes were intellectually fascinating but failed as a narrative experience, or seemed shallow and pointless.

There was a bit too much of "it's not porn it's HBO" but then again, It is HBO

Westworld boasted wonderfully interesting characters (outside notable exceptions) & even better actors to have them draw you to the screen

The last 3 episodes were the only ones that made me *need* another episode, which isn't great when you're trying to be this plot-focused.

Maeve's storyline was the best, but had the least compelling conclusion, kind of the opposite of everything else.

That said, I adored every minute Ed Harris was on the screen, and what that storyline built into was possibly the best part of the show.

I guess my biggest reaction to Westworld, though, wasn't anything to do with the show, but in the concept it built for itself.

First, I have to admit that I've religiously poured over atlases for worlds that don't exist (Middle Earth, Beta quadrant in Trek)
