hmm… i don't think phones as controllers will work unless it's on wifi, which makes it a lot less portable / less exciting

a device (the switch) with wifi antenna can make ITSELF a local hotspot to connect to for local networking

i wonder if that'd work! the current iterations of the game ping the server for everything, which this couldn't do

I've been able to play jackbox stuff while not on the same wifi network as the console iirc? might be wrong

right, but the console and phones need a wifi connection for it to work, so you can't use it away from home
