i'm kinda worried that instead of getting 6 cool Switch games at E3 2017 we're gonna get like… three Switch games and three 3DS games... no…

there are "many unannounced 3DS titles"? "many"????http://www.polygon.com/2017/1/31/14465360/nintendo-switch-wont-replace-nintendo-3ds?utm_campaign=polygon&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter …

I would imagine that all 3DS announcements would be games brought over from Japan or things already finishing development.

Theyre playing it safe. If the Switch fails they bail out “oh no it was never meant to replace”. Opposite if it succeeds.

wasn't that the original messaging on the DS? It wasn't officially the successor to the GBA until sure of its success

if it's any consolation they said the DS wouldn't be the end of the GBA because it was a weird untested idea

so i see it as more of an investor reassurance than anything "don't worry we're not totally jumping into uncharted waters"

yeah, I don't get this strategy. Hopefully it's a game boy/ds situation

honestly my only thought during all the Switch news was "where are the 3DS-tier games on this new portable console???" :(

It's a very Nintendo thing to do. If they dumped all of their 3DS and traditional console series on one platform, it succeeds.

It's as if they don't want to give 3DS owners a reason to buy Switch, since they didn't need a Wii U.
