N64 devs counted on RCA & the brightness of CRT's not being great to mask a lot of texture work
i'm talking specifically about Nintendo's emulation vs others, though. like, even GBA games look dim and muted

Early GBA games will; if you put them on a backlit GBA some will look super washed out idk why they didn't adjust tho
