the localization in the Pokemon games is straight-up bad and nobody talks about it for some reason

It's very hard to write natural dialogue for such modular, context-free characters like random NPCs. Hau, etc. are all very good
that's a good point! i feel like that's gotta be rly challenging. then again i also feel like Paper Mario manages to pull it off

Paper Mario is different from Pokémon though, and Intelligent Systems used to be the best at that (example: pre-awakening FE)
