I still say that was the scariest/darkest level in Paper Mario history. 2nd being when you had to walk through Sammer’s Kingdom after that world exploded.

Already liking the tone / writing of the trailer. Let's hope the battle system is good. Also the whole opening felt like a huge nod to the ending of TTYD. Big door with evil Peach. Could be a sign of Nintendo having some self-awareness.
