if you're a Switch owner considering buying a Switch Lite, don't! there is currently no good way to have 2 switches (one to use communally on the TV, and one for offline portable play) – the way Nintendo set it up is fundamentally broken

This is where, in my utopian scenario, I imagined that Family Accounts would come in: as long as somebody from that Family Account was logged in, all of those accounts would be "logged in", making it possible to play a game as long as it's installed on that switch. Not the case?

This is how it should be, but it's not. Example: my son plays the Switch that's docked to the living room TV, and I play my own console that I take with me. Because I've bought our digital games under my account, the living room system has to be the primary console.

When I got my own Switch, I made it the primary thinking I'd take it with me and leave the one in the living room as the family console, lol nope.

I have multiple switches and stuff mostly works for my family. The biggest issue is that we can't play two completely different games that are owned by the same account at the same time without the owner going offline. This is bigger bullshit than anything else.

I really wish Nintendo would invest in a better cloud save system, more in line with what Steam has. That way it could be a lot more usable

This is only relevant for eshop games, not physical ones, right?

Correct.
