i actually think we underestimated how crucial Tyson Hesse's redesign of movie Sonic wound up being. any moments of charm in that movie are 100% direct results of the redesign – it would have been truly unwatchable without it

This is actually untrue, there was actually a full screening of the movie before redesign and the number one complaint was the CGI, however AFAIK a large portion of the beginning was still story boards and they added a bit in terms of the cute/funny sonic moments like the floss
