50k may not be all that’s needed for the port, but also Nintendo may have not wanted to back a remaster since Platinum seems to want 101 on non-Nintendo platforms. For other publishers? Idk

totally – i'm sure they undershot the target number by a fair amount. it still feels like there's a major disconnect between demand for this game and the willingness of publishers to take on the risk, for one reason or another. i'm curious what that reason is!

I can do that easily for free. Just @ him and complain about Bayonetta 3 or ask what his favorite color is

50,000 dollars is seriously chump change for a company and game development.

Because backers aren't investing in hope of a return. Unlike companies they aren't gambling money on a risky project that may not pay the dividends needed to pay their employees/appease stockholders. crowdfundings a risk for consumers. But at worst you don't receive your product

I think it says that their goal was misleadingly tiny - it costs way more than $50k to remaster a game! But I'm super happy for them regardless!!

The only reason ninty didnt publish is bc platinum wanted to make it multiplat. So i wouldnt be surprised if Nintendo had already helped fund the Switch port at least a bit and most of the other money is going to funding ports to other platforms. Just a guess tho
