honest question: when Masuda said “we're creating it with much higher fidelity with higher quality animations,” do you think he was referring to the animations for the new Pokemon? or did y’all think he meant “we’re going through and re-animating Eevee’s backflip for no reason”https://twitter.com/Krowiplacekk/status/1170746925731254274 …

Very good Nick. Look at the big brains on you! Now follow along: If he's not redoing any old Pokemon animations and just focusing on making the new ones good then... Why can't they put all the old Pokemon in with their copy pasted animations? That's the point here, Nick.

“they reused an animation in the petting minigame” isn’t the same as “they created zero new animations and assets for preexisting Pokemon in Sword/Shield”

Of course, but we're not basing it on the camp minigame thingy, all the trailers that were shown so far had little to no improvements to the animations or models. The official pokemon twitter account has a gif of the corgi guy rotating in one axis as a tail attack

hahah, no argument here! the battle animations look real bad, and i absolutely sympathize with wishing they would overhaul that stuff
