Very good Nick. Look at the big brains on you! Now follow along: If he's not redoing any old Pokemon animations and just focusing on making the new ones good then... Why can't they put all the old Pokemon in with their copy pasted animations? That's the point here, Nick.

“they reused an animation in the petting minigame” isn’t the same as “they created zero new animations and assets for preexisting Pokemon in Sword/Shield”

I think the issue for people is that there's no improvement. We've gone to a new platform but they're just making a 3ds game but higher res on it instead of remaking stuff to make an incredible looking pokemon game worthy of the switch.

that’s fair, i guess! i wish it looked like a bigger generational leap too. but hyperfixating on the eating animations not being new feels a little arbitrary and silly to me

I can’t believe this is a real controversy we’re having in the year of our lord 2019

The fact that they're reusing animations isn't the problem. The problem is that their reasoning for cutting the Pokedex was for the sake of improving animations, and so far they haven't done that at all. That's why people are mad.

I can deal with reused animations. I can live with that. What I do care about is having a game with all the Pokemon in it, and if you're going to tell me that improving animations will come at that price, then I feel like it's reasonable to expect that the animations improve.
