Does your mic require phantom power? If it does whatever you use to power it might be broken and it’s not getting enough juice. Definitely sounds like the issue is not on your computer but rather your mixer or possibly your mic. If you can, see if it happens with another xlr mic.

it's a MXL V67G! looks like it does use phantom power... might try another USB port. sadly i've only got one XLR mic and one XLR cable, both of which are survivors of an apartment fire... maybe they got heat-damaged? lol

mixer is usb to computer? This sounds like the driver is fucking up on the glitchy click part. (well, it sounds like buffer issues that often are generated due to faulty drivers)
