Jack is only referring to their upcoming "twttr" app when discussing the hiding of Retweets and Likes. "The prototype also removes the engagement counts showing the number of retweets or "likes" a tweet receives. This change is designed to make Twitter a little friendlier."

Ah dang - sorry, must’ve misread it, thought it was basically saying it was being prototyped for the next update alongside the camera update; there was only a sentence on the update in that article. Hope it doesn’t happen! Shall delete the tweet. Not my intention to misinform.
no worries, and sorry for the vitriol - i've seen people spread misinfo in bad faith before, but i shouldn't have assumed you were doing the same. thanks for doing the right thing
