i mean, that statistic is a little disingenuous, though, right? this chart is only talking about 10 specific people - that's an insanely small sample size that doesn't reflect 99.999% of creators
sure, but it perfectly encapsulates what has happened in the Influencer space, in terms of what viewers actually want to watch And having seen video game sales as a result of Influencers drop dramatically over the last few years, I can assure you this is one of the main reasons
yeah, maybe! i think Fortnite (and the rise of Fortnite-specific content creators in the past year) is a real confounding factor that makes this stat feel wonky to me, but then again i suppose that's exactly the point your making
The numbers of creators represented does not matter if this handful of total creators represents the vast majority of actual viewers. Yeah, there's a lot of Twitch creators out there w/ 20 viewers total and yeah they greatly outnumber the Shrouds of the world but do they mater?
80/20 rule/Pareto principle though. Those 10 people have an incredibly large effect.

The 10 biggest streamers have more power than 99.999% of other streamers though. Doesn't mean smaller streamers don't influence games but the ones at the top are giants.
The stats can be easily skewed in the context they are set out in. TotalBiscuit was only able to cover a single game in 2018 before he changed focus and later passed away. Not to mention that the audience the 'top 10' may vary dramatically too. Also news sites are counted on here
