They look like fakemon. If these had leaked I'd honestly had assumed it was fake just off the designs being so bland

Funny thing is, you could say the same for the game’s entire gameplay style. Hasn’t changed across 4 generations of gaming. All samey. Yadda yadda big heads.

I guess, but at a certain point, Pokemon design has to sorta/kinda copy elements of the past into new designs. And after almost 1,000 designs, if some of them look alike, so be it

Honestly at first I thought they weren't the starters and just like the Sage trio from Gen 5, but then they were like "Nah, these are starters"

this is what ive been thinking too, but ill have faith that the 2nd and 3rd evolutions will do them justice

In my opinion there have bern so many starter pokemon over each generation that it is impossible to make new good ones. I didn't even expect anything from the starter reveal this time around, and haven't in quite awhile.
