Miyamoto’s baseball analogy applies perfectly to the new youth-led franchises at Nintendo depending who you ask, ARMS was a swing-and-a-miss… but SPLATOON 2 was the first game this decade to sell over 2,000,000 units in Japan. that’s the risk/reward tradeoff he’s describing

I had a lot of fun with ARMS personally...but then Splatoon 2 came out and I stopped playing it for that. I got rusty by the time I went back to it while those online got crazy good. That’s just kinda how fighting games go though.
