played tetris effect for the first time yesterday and now it’ll be the only thing i think about for approximately 4 months

one of my most treasured moments of 2018 is sitting @rogerclark down to play it knowing nothing about it. around the desert moon stage he was like “...why am i actually tearing up right now?” followed by “how is everyone not talking about this game all the time?!?”

didn't ever expect to cry playing tetris. never had a game have such an emotional effect on me so quickly. and with almost zero nostalgia at play -- i have no real important memories of tetris like i'd have for mario, zelda etc

i feel like this is the hardest hurdle to clear when pitching someone on Tetris Effect: so often, i hear "oh, i never played much / never got good at Tetris," when the game is barely about nostalgia at all

I had a similar first impression. From what I heard about it I figured it was good and I already liked Tetris but I wasn't expecting or ready for them to do it -this- well.
