now imagine if Nintendo hadn’t spent the entire Wii U era criminalizing making videos about their games

I get what you’re saying, but I sadly can’t see Nintendo salvaging the Wii U even if they had sensible YouTube policies. The damage was done with the name and their marketing, no matter how great the console was. If a brand new Mario Kart and Smash couldn’t save it, nothing could
