For years now, Nintendo has claimed and monetized literally every piece of Nintendo content on YouTube they could identify. They were literally the only major publisher to take this approach. It sucked, but they're finally backing down, which is HUGE
The thing I'm most curious about is how this works for past content. They've been militantly claiming all Nintendo content on YouTube for over 5 years — are they really about to reverse millions of Content ID copyright claims overnight?
