weird take, but purely in terms of games, i think the Wii U era might be my favorite era of Nintendo. Mario Maker, 3D World, Smash 4, Bayo 2, Captain Toad, and BOTW. wall-to-wall bangers

Not a weird take at all. Wii U definitely was a quality over quantity era. Not many games for it, but the ones that were there were generally very high quality - especially from Nintendo themselves.
