[THREAD] I hate how DC liberals talk about the SW Waterfront/Wharf. It represents everything that liberals/leftists constantly get wrong about housing and urban development.

people keep saying the gov't is releasing more UFO stuff to "prepare us" for aliens being here, but i think it's more likely they're trying to prepare us for knocking on our doors and asking who sent the drone into protected airspace

America's 660 billionaires could give everybody in the country a $3,900 survival check and still be as rich as they were before the pandemic. If that doesn’t convince you we need a wealth tax, I don’t know what will.

Thelma, a Black woman in Minnesota, was kicked out of her home. Why? The landlord had been charged with a misdemeanor for not evicting her family after white neighbors repeatedly called the police on her for things like barbecues and kids playing outside.

the "waaah what about bipartisanship" thing is pitched to middle America who think of Democrats as a bunch of coastal gay black Latinx immigrants & to whom "allowing Dems to be in gov't at all" is already an"out there" compromise, so Dems pushing "their" policies is "unbalanced."

Anyone who's not noticing literal Nazis and far-right disinfo grifters like Mike Cernovich rabidly tweeting in support of the GameStop squeeze is a fucking dumbass, and as usual, is correct. Nazis will try to co-opt *any* movement that's mostly disaffected white people.

establishment GOPers work for big business and called on racial (and gender) resentment to stay elected. now the beast they fed is biting them so they're trying to cut ties. (we'll see just how entangled they really are) i mean, they did already get their tax cuts & court seats.

Numerous reports of delays online - Lenovo tells some folks their repair center is closed due to Covid. The phone reps are clearly instructed to try to avoid saying so. If the shop is closed, either send the units back or refund them. Is the plan to sit on them until June?

The atoms don't have to continue text, they have to continue audience's understanding. Each atom forwards the audience's question one step towards an answer. That's why indeterminate-order hypertext or choose-your-own-adventure still work as conveyors of plot.

A change in tactic (that is, a beat ends when the tactic changes). A character wants X and tries A to get it. When A doesn't work, they change to B, and that's a new beat. E.g. Beat: Hero tries to convince villain to stop the evil plan, villain says no. Beat: Hero tries punching.
