Not being silly. There surely aren't any longitudinal studies of the life effects of chronic small amounts of sleep deprivation.
Then please tell me on what basis you state this as fact: "DST is less dangerous, but affects way more people."
DST is a one hour rather than 8 or more hour shift. It affects (nearly) the entire population rather than only shift workers.
