That's the thing! You can't knock the didactic dialogue in Interstellar and then stan for Contact (I love both, for the record)

Oh... I don't agree. I think that you can dislike Interstellar and love Contact. I do! Contact at least has some kind of basis in reality. Interstellar is about how love is the 4th dimension, similar dialogue or not.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to make a case that Contact hes closer to known science than Interstellar—they both sort of invoke the wormhole get out of free card

But Contact deals in a real way with humanity and the way we relate to one another. And politics. And life. Also, like, they both play with science in weird ways, but I don't begrudge either for that. Contact's script is better and so is the acting, even from Matty.
