I had a chat with Philip Zimbardo about the Stanford Prison Experiment. We discuss the new revelations, his critics, and whether it has any scientific value.https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/6/28/17509470/stanford-prison-experiment-zimbardo-interview …

No kudos from me, Brian, sorry. What you and admirers seem to think were hard-hitting questions seem to me just repeated failures to understand what Zimbardo was telling you. If you're going after a scientist like this, you need a broader understanding of "research."
-
He said this classic study does not meet the requirements for an "experiment" as is the case for tons of old and new research. He clearly understands the need for other researchers to critique and replicate research in order to make progress. You, however,
-
seem to want to just keep beating him up about control over variables he has already admitted was lacking. Using the word"fraud" in the header of your other piece even further damages YOUR credibility and is unfair to Zimbardo. It's GOOD that you followed up, though.
-
If you want to build your own reputation as well as help
@Vox maintain theirs, please think twice about words like "fraud" in a header. And, never use the phrase "based off of" - strictly bush league.

not all scientific discoveries happen via pure experiments, e.g. Darwin's origin of species is all observation
-
tho "Stanford Prison Demonstration" doesn't have the same ring to it, the purpose was obvi a shocking demonstration
