Is this eggshell toxic?! An egg of the most poisonous bird in the world - Hooded Pitohui are one of several species which use toxins usually found in poison arrow frogs. Their skin & breast feathers are covered in batrachotoxins so it is likely some is transferred to their eggs!

One of our team had a fright today when they heard a thud on the kitchen window of their Poole home, only to then find this poor dead Woodcock. It’s likely this bird had just arrived from Russia. Amazing that they’re using urban gardens for staging

For the past few days I’ve been observing Ospreys in this part of Holes Bay. I won’t be there tomorrow morning but if anyone wants to spot an Osprey here is your chance.

Nice selection of prey found today, in photo, Jackdaw (legs), Rabbit (leg), Jay (secondary), Green Woodpecker (head); there's not much waste most things are stripped right down.
